With great sadness, we are announcing that Tampa Bay Anime will no longer hold regular meetings.
Mike, Kali, and I have discussed this at great length, and we’ve come to this decision only after weighing all the options and carefully considering what is best for everyone involved. The end result is that we no longer believe we can serve Tampa Bay Anime in everyone’s best interest.
I’ve been president of the club for many years now, and I’ve seen many members come and go. I’ve made lasting friendships and done a lot of fun things that I’ll never forget. I’ve enjoyed bringing to new and old anime fans shows and experiences they’ve enjoyed. I’ve always worked to make sure Tampa Bay Anime meetings were as much fun as they could be, striving to strike a balance between exploring new things and enjoying favorites with friends.
Now, however, I believe it’s time to set my responsibilities aside. There are many other things I’d like to pursue, and I can no longer give a club like Tampa Bay Anime the attention it deserves. I will always cherish the time that I ran this club, and I’m truly honored to have met all the anime fans that have sat at our tables.
This website will remain up for the foreseeable future, to provide an archive of our recent past for anybody interested. Also, the Facebook group will be there for anybody who still wants to converse and discuss anime in the Tampa Bay area. Kali, Mike, and myself will still post there occasionally, dropping off info we think local fans will enjoy or want to discuss. Feel free to hang out there!
If you want to discuss the club’s closure with me directly, feel free to shoot me an email at tampabayanime@gmail.com.
Once more, thank you all for being my clubmates and friends. Remember to support the anime industry and always be true fans.
